Job Description

Our Technology and Platform Services department designs and secures the platform that underpins all of our offerings. Our key to scalability and continuous improvement is innovation and collaboration.

We are searching for a highly motivated Staff Machine Learning Scientist to join our expanding AI Center of Excellence team. This team is responsible for leveraging machine learning to drive innovation throughout the organization and create positive consequences for our planet and society. 

Your global responsibilities will comprise (but not be limited to):

• Using large, complex data sets to solve challenging business problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
• Converting and detailing business questions into technical solutions.
• Creating, benchmarking, and maintaining machine learning models, and overseeing data annotation efforts.
• Utilizing Python, MLflow, Azure stack (e.g., Azure cloud, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory), and Databricks to provide end-to-end solutions.
• Innovating by adjusting new machine learning algorithms.
• Promoting best practices in machine learning and coaching junior team members.
• Leading function-specific teams and projects to expedite the adoption of technology and AI within the organization.
• Consistently communicating with customers to assess their requirements and recommend solutions to increase customer satisfaction and boost business value.
• Keeping up-to-date with technological trends in areas like, but not limited to, AI and ML. Then, applying this knowledge to the critical challenges that lie ahead of EcoVadis.

Qualifications

Education and experience

• PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics/Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics).
• 8+ years of overall experience in machine learning and data mining techniques.
• Expert knowledge of machine learning from forecasting to architectures used in NLP, such as transformers and RNN models, and NLP tasks (e.g., named entity recognition (NER), entity linking, question answering, semantic search).
• Advanced knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, ).
• Experience in leading end-to-end ML projects from design to implementation to integration, and applying the best software development practices.
• Excellent mentoring abilities and accountability for high-quality and timely delivery of initiatives they lead.
• Plus: Experience in cross-functional collaboration in developing ML products and services (e.g., Engineers, Product Managers).

• Location: Barcelona, Spain (or remote from any location in Spain).
