Job Overview
The HR Data Reporting Analyst will support HR and departmental research, performance reporting, operations management, and departmental operations with a focus on seasoned-level reporting and analysis. The position involves planning and executing projects to study operational effectiveness, designing and preparing reports by accessing various databases, and summarizing data with commentary or observations. Expertise in enterprise systems, complex spreadsheets, and pivot tables, particularly in HRIS/Oracle Cloud-type databases, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute data collection and analysis for departmental functions or activities.
- Design custom reports and data displays for projects and standard reports for ongoing functions.
- Review operating records and/or databases for quality and accuracy.
- Identify processes or reporting functions needing improvement in completeness, detail, or accuracy.
- Write queries in appropriate reporting languages and retrieve data from various information systems.
- Analyze monthly operating statistics and prepare reports.
- Lead or participate in internal and external research projects, collecting and summarizing results.
- Generate, present, and explain reports, presentations, graphics, and other documents.
- Interact with line staff, managers, and supervisors during studies, surveys, or audits.
- Analyze recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws.
- Prepare and present data results to peers and senior leadership, identifying and recommending goals and benchmarks for performance metrics.
- Engage with staff to ensure data strategies align with department goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, statistics, human resources, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 4 years of experience in creation, reporting, and/or management of data.
- Exposure to HRIS products and understanding of standard HR Reporting.
- Required Skills: SQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields, plus 5 years of data analysis experience.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, Advanced Microsoft Excel, R, Python, and Visual Basic.
- 2 or more years of experience as an HR Specialist.
Licensures and Certifications
No specific certifications or licensures required. Additional training in specific reporting languages or software may be required based on individual positions.
