You will be part of an active, cooperative, and cross-functional team focused on making significant business impacts. Key responsibilities: You will work with other engineers and data scientists to solve some of the hardest business problems. You will learn what it requires to build, launch & scale ML/AI models in the real world (it's a tough problem, we promise you). You will construct analytical datasets upon which models will be developed. This would entail two main tasks - feature engineering on large datasets and optimizing our pipelines for scalability. If you are already proficient at it, we will help you become even better. You will: - Feature engineering: Combine and aggregate multiple large data sets with the data scientist to a desired format. You will need to optimize both queries and architecture to support large data sets. SQL is generally the chosen language, but some Spark jobs are required. - Data pipelining: Once the initial datasets are prepared, they are typically run through a further pipeline to prepare them for modeling. Here, you will create features to enable ML/AI algorithms (e.g. translating text into category variables). Python/R is usually the chosen language. Essential Requirements: - Robust SQL Knowledge. - Education (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience - Attention to detail, critical thinking, and openness to learning. - Willing to mentor junior team members. - You have professional experience. 5+ years of experience in Data or BI engineering dealing with large, complex data scenarios Desirable requirements: - Skills in Python or other programming languages. - Demonstrated ability to work with diverse data infrastructures – including relational databases, Data Warehouses, column stores, NoSQL databases, and file-based storage solutions. Exposure to software engineering and machine learning or machine learning pipelines is a plus.
