Job Description

Utilize your expertise in modern machine learning technologies to tackle challenging issues on noisy high-dimensional data. Collaborate with a team that includes specialists in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Electronics, and Semiconductor Manufacturing. Your research will attract attention due to its considerable potential to enhance the value of worldwide products.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and develop models for identifying chemical compounds in sensor data from instruments
  • Create experiments and software to compile and process datasets for training your models and testing them
  • Evaluate and calculate the performance of prototypes, both in the laboratory and on site

Required background:

  • PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics, specializing in Data Science and Machine Learning. Candidates without a PhD are encouraged to apply if they have experience in solving complex data science problems
  • Proficiency in Python, Linux, Scientific Computing, and Machine Learning Libraries
  • Proven Software Developer with experience training and testing ML modules on large data sets

Preferred background:

  • Proven proficiency with statistical ML and with neural networks
  • Experience in signal processing
  • Published papers and/or code for analyzing sensor data or process control data
  • Prior work with unsupervised or semi-supervised ML for anomaly detection
  • Experience with pyTorch or Tensorflow
  • Experience with multivariate time series analysis and modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of Physics or Chemometrics or Process Control
  • C++ Software Development

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $110k and $135k annually. The actual remuneration will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
