As the Director/VP for AI/ML & Emerging Technologies, you will be responsible for leading the technology strategy and architecture in these areas, ensuring that they are successfully applied to drive business value.
We are seeking a leader who can efficiently link business priorities and goals to opportunities arising from AI, ML and other emerging technologies, define a vision and target state, and then communicate this effectively to a wide range of audiences, including C-suite executives and external parties. The capability to engage with developers and technologists as effectively as business leaders is key for this role. We need this individual to help us attract the top engineers to Capital Group and advise on building skill sets for emerging technologies and AI in our organization. Finally, we seek this leader to define the framework for consistently and efficiently implementing these technologies, including reference architectures for data science environments and related standards.
In this role, you will be a part of the Global Technology Strategy and Architecture organization. This organization reports to Capital Group’s Global CIO.

More specifically, within this role, you will:
- Define standards and reference architectures for AI and other emerging technologies within Capital Group, including platform architectures, model development lifecycle management, quality assurance processes, and continuous delivery/deployment strategies of machine learning models.
- Lead Capital’s existing emerging technology function, optimizing value from our network.
- Provide daily leadership of Capital’s enterprise Generative AI program, coordinating and helping to harvest the benefits of these solutions.
- Define frameworks for knowledge sharing among all the AI/ML teams within the enterprise, and a strategy to train the organization on newly emerging technologies.
- Evangelize AI, ML and emerging technologies to a varied group of audiences, including C-level executives.
- Network internally and externally with business partners, delivery teams, industry peers and external technology leaders to identify and grasp opportunities related to these solutions.
- Lead technology strategies for AI, ML, and emerging technologies, consulting with business partners, product managers and delivery teams.

You are a candidate for this role if:
- You are an inspiring technology leader with experience leading successful technology transformations and initiating change within large-scale, complex environments.
- You have hands-on experience with AI or ML at scale, preferably in financial services.
- You have experience using cloud AI/ML services on AWS, Azure or GCP, and building a scalable infrastructure for AI & ML at an enterprise-level.
- You are an effective communicator, able to explain strategic and highly complex technical information to diverse stakeholder groups and audiences at all levels.
- You set clear and challenging goals.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $233,194-$396,430
New York Base Salary Range: $247,218-$420,271
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, according to plan guidelines, restrictions, and vesting requirements, you will also be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus, along with a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
