Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an EDI Data Operations Consultant to join our team, reporting to the Associate Director of Integrated Absence & STD. This role is a pivotal opportunity for a subject matter expert in electronic data interchange (EDI) within integrated Absence Management (FMLA, ADA, PFL, PFML, STD, state-mandated disability, company leaves, municipal leaves). The successful candidate will work closely with IT, business, and project teams to ensure accurate representation of EDI-related functions and technologies throughout all phases of a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the EDI subject matter expert, providing guidance on client and employer data handling and the necessary connectivity between data feeds, claims applications, data stores, reporting, and security.
  • Play a key role in business planning to deliver a consultative, flexible, and smooth implementation experience for clients, employers, brokers, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Guide clients, employers, brokers, and vendors on the development, delivery, and maintenance of eligibility and historical & takeover files.
  • Represent the Integrated Absence & STD team in project meetings, elaborations, and capability definitions.
  • Monitor and document file delivery schedules, timeliness, error reporting, and communicate issues to stakeholders.
  • Support claims staff, vendors, employers, brokers, and clients in troubleshooting file-related issues and facilitate customer-specific needs.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation regarding file specifications and communicate any changes to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Manipulate historical and takeover files to standard formats and load them into the system while troubleshooting with the IT team.
  • Utilize data to create analytics and compare employer records to industry data.
  • Develop processes that ensure quality outcomes within efficient timelines and accuracy.
  • Support the development of core capabilities for new client file feeds or large-case reporting needs.
  • Customize employer and client accounts, leave preferences, and communications to meet customer needs.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel is required.
  • 2-4 years of EDI-related experience.
  • Experience in Absence Management products (FMLA, STD, Paid Family Medical Leave, ADA, Worker's Comp) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly build credibility and work effectively with team members across the organization.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Salary Range by Location

  • Southern California: $55,200-$82,800 annually.
  • Central California: $58,200-$87,300 annually.
  • Northern California: $52,600-$78,900 annually.
  • Minnesota, Colorado, Nevada: $52,600-$78,900 annually.
  • Connecticut, Maryland: $55,200-$82,800 annually.
  • Washington, Rhode Island: $
