About the role: As a Foremost Personalisation Engineer, you'll be pioneering the development of an industry-top personalised retail experience. In conjunction with the product team, you'll be accountable for formulating and actualising the technical roadmap for personalisation and recommendation features at Motorway. You will assume a crucial role in expanding our platform, focussing on capitalising on machine learning and our extensive datasets to improve user engagement and accelerate growth. You will operate in a multidisciplinary squad (Product Managers, Design Leads, and Engineers) to deliver a novel platform for personalisation. Join us to construct something radical! What you'll do: - Design, plan, and execute the development of our recommendation and personalisation engine, assuring high code standard and system endurance. - Guide the team in gauging complex tasks and projects, working intimately with Product and Engineering Managers to set priorities, allocate work, and tackle tech debt. - Allocate at least 50-70% of your time to active coding, focussing on new feature development. - Advocate for best standards in personalisation, machine learning, A/B testing, and data security. - Coach and provide feedback to colleagues, assisting in their personal and professional growth. - Contribute to the evolution of our development standards and procedures. Requirements We prompt you to apply, even if you perceive you don't fulfil all the requirements. - Profound experience with Python, content/collaborative filtering techniques and machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, scikit-learn and LightFM. - Ability to author production-standard, efficient backend services with libraries such as fast api or flask. - Familiarity with cloud services, preferably GCP (Vertex AI, Kubeflow/ VertexAI Pipelines). Expertise with AWS is desirable but not essential. - Familiarity with SQL for data retrieval. Acquaintance with BigQuery is desirable. - Outstanding communication skills, competent of liaising between engineering, product, and business teams. - Experience with A/B testing methodologies and tools. - Agile software development practices and cooperative teamwork. - You have demonstrable experience guiding technical teams with a focus on personalisation at a similar organisation.
