The people at Zendesk have one objective: to improve Customer Experience. Our products assist over 125,000 brands worldwide (such as AirBnb, Uber, JetBrains, Slack, etc.) in making their billions of clients satisfied each day.

Our team is responsible for building the tools and infrastructure required throughout all the stages of the ML model lifecycle. From exploration and design to production deployment and maintenance, we are committed to supporting ML teams in aiding Customer Experience teams to give their best, by smartly dealing with repetitive tasks so they can shift their focus to more complex issues.

We are on the hunt for a Machine Learning Engineer to build the ML platform that offers robust infrastructure to transform models into products for our 145,000+ customers. The right candidate will have a background as a software engineer or MLOps engineer, a passion to work in the ML/AI domain and a strong interest in developing complex systems while automating the simple ones.

What you’ll be doing 

• Building software to transition machine learning from experiment to production
• Working closely with fellow Engineers to create innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Contributing to initiatives to improve the scalability and reliability of our platforms
• Prototyping and refining scalable infrastructure
• Working with a great team to build really cool products

What you bring to the role

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience building scalable and reliable software applications
• Proficient in at least one of our core languages: Python or Java
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure
• A self-managing and dedicated mindset with the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in building and deploying machine learning models, and thorough understanding of end-to-end machine learning pipelines and components.
• Familiarity with data engineering tools, for example, Spark
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and related tools, such as Sagemaker, ML Flow, Metaflow
• Experience or knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (for example Terraform)

Tech Stack

• Our code is written in Python, Java, Scala, and Go
• Our servers are hosted on AWS
• Our team manages infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform
• Our data is stored in S3, RDS MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Aurora and streamed through Kafka
• Our services are deployed to Kubernetes using Docker

The annual base salary for this position in Poland ranges from zł146,000.00 to zł218,000.00. Please note that the actual compensation offered will be based on job-related abilities, relevant experience, and other relevant factors. This position may be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives which will be communicated during the offer stage.
