The Impact You’ll Make

As part of our dynamic team, you will:

• Develop and refine ML-driven products to foster creativity, discovery, and engagement on Nextdoor.
• Create personalized content and user recommendation systems used daily by millions.
• Run and analyze live user-facing experiments to improve model quality.
• Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to optimize user experiences on our platform.

We have MLE positions across various tracks, including Feed, Notifications, Ads, Network Growth, Knowledge Graph, and ML Platform.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, or a related field, with expected graduation between 2024 and Summer 2025.
• Deep understanding of machine learning concepts, including deep learning and applications like recommender systems and knowledge graph.
• Internship experience in machine learning engineering in fields such as social networking or e-commerce.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for Nextdoor’s mission and purpose.
• Bonus: Industry experience in applying machine learning at scale.

Rewards

Our compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs create a comprehensive rewards package. The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $150,000 to $170,000 annually, with potential for higher compensation based on proficiency.

Additionally, we offer meaningful equity grants with equal quarterly vesting. Your first vest date will be within the first three months of your start date.
