Job Title: Operations Solution Engineer

Main Purpose

The primary goal of the Operations Solution Engineer role is to deliver high-quality AI data services to our clients, enabling them to harness the potential of AI and NLP technologies in their operations. This role is expected to leverage applied experience and knowledge in AI model development as context to engage and collaborate with customers.

Projects in Welocalize AI are consultative engagements that help customers launch, improve, or maintain their ML models. These projects might include:

• Collecting training data and/or testing data for language models for deployment in multilingual conversational AI, search relevance, or other implementations.
• Data annotation and labeling to improve discovery/search results, model accuracy for sentiment analysis, sensitive content detection, and named entities.
• Data validation and classification.
• NLP Consulting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand their end goals and help define data and linguistic specifications.
• Manage the development and enhancement of AI enablement tools and NLP applications.
• Create internal project specifications, linguistic guidelines, workflow instructions, and training content.
• Design and implement quality evaluation protocols and data spec compliance tools.
• Make work surface recommendations and advocate for necessary features with internal product owners.
• Communicate project progress, address concerns, and build strong client relationships.
• Coordinate with internal quality leads, project managers, linguists, and recruiters to ensure seamless project execution.
• Stay current with trends and advancements in AI and NLP, exploring new technologies to enhance services.
• Manage large data sets across tools and platforms and learn internal tools like Pantheon for financial reporting and project tracking.
• Engage with clients to design and implement technical solutions for AI and NLP needs.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in technical or consulting roles, such as product management, engineering, or business analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in computational linguistics, computer science, engineering, economics, statistics, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in front-end development is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data structures.
• Proven track record in developing, deploying, and maintaining NLP models.
• Hands-on experience with ML lifecycle applications, data management, and data wrangling.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
• Experience with programming languages, preferably C#.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Jupyter or common data processing libraries like Pandas is a plus.
• Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and communicate complex concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for AI and ML technologies and a history of exploring new concepts and techniques.
