The Genesys Data & Analytics Team
The Data & Analytics team is a centralized unit comprising Data Engineering, Data Platform/Technologies, Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Product, and Data Governance practices. This dynamic team serves the enterprise, including sales, finance, marketing, customer success, product, and more. It is also a vital partner to operational systems like Salesforce and Workday that run the business.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, data scientists, and analysts to frame problems, clean and integrate data, and provision data on demand effectively.
- Lead architectural design with other principal engineers to achieve measurable results at scale.
- Provide technical thought leadership for efficient data pipeline processes, warehouse architecture, and business intelligence functions.
- Guide, mentor, and influence the team, setting modern data architectural directions and consistently adopting best practices.
- Promote a data operations mindset by monitoring and analyzing information to enhance data pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design interfaces supporting data integration with internal and external platforms.
- Lead tech evaluations related to data and analytics, including POT/POC's.
Requirements
- 10 years of enterprise data engineering experience
- Proficiency in building optimized enterprise-grade data integration pipelines (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Experience with cloud database technologies (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Google, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with cloud-based data integration tools/frameworks (dbt, Glue, etc.)
- Experience with cloud-based data orchestration (MWAA)
- Knowledge of data replication, data integration, and data masking
- 10+ years of programming experience with proficiency in at least two programming languages (SQL, Python, Java, R, Spark)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with end-users and business leaders
- Experience working within an agile scrum framework
- Passion for code quality, testing, and documentation
- Experience deploying data pipeline infrastructure on cloud technologies
- Expertise in distributed data processing and event streaming
- Experience iterating within a CI/CD framework
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering; or master’s degree in computer science
- Experience with message-driven architecture and API enablement
- Strong team player with the ability to lead peers in achieving common goals
- Creative, innovative, and solution-oriented thinking
- High-energy, team-first, positive attitude with a passion for making a significant impact
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Effective communicator able to interact with cross-functional teams
