Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering for our Analytics and Behavioral Change team. In this role, you will work with billions of records of retail and healthcare data, leading teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data applications in collaboration with Data Science and Data Engineering leaders.
  • Leverage standardized tools and methodologies to enhance analytics speed, insight, and efficiency.
  • Design highly scalable cloud data platforms for batch and real-time data collection, storage, modeling, and analysis.
  • Assess and provide recommendations on business requirements with timely deployment.
  • Adopt a DevOps mindset to enable big data and real-time analytical solutions using emerging technologies.
  • Develop prototypes and proof of concepts, and implement complex data projects.
  • Streamline data engineering processes for efficiency and quality enhancement.
  • Guide and mentor junior data engineers to develop their technical skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python, with 3+ years of hands-on coding experience in both.
  • Experience with real-time and streaming technology.
  • Experience in building automated big data pipelines.
  • Experience in data analysis, data exploration, solution design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Experience with Azure or GCP, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and query optimization.
  • Experience using automation tools for orchestrating pipelines.
  • Experience deploying/scaling applications in containerized environments.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally to align priorities and achieve deliverables.
  • Experience with Snowflake/BigQuery, Google Dataproc/Databricks, or Spark-based big data frameworks.
  • Understanding of DevOps best practices and CI/CD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in ML Engineering.
  • Experience with REST API/Microservice development using Python.
  • Healthcare experience or retail domain knowledge.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience setting coding standards, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior developers.
  • Experience in a multi-developer environment using version control.
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred: Master’s Degree with coursework focused on advanced algorithms, mathematics in computing, data structures, etc.

Compensation

The typical pay range for this role is $118,450.00 - $267,800.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
