Key Job Responsibilities:
This role entails developing high-performance, real-time Computer Vision and Machine Learning solutions and their associated deployment. You'll be creating core models that are fundamental to our key operational features. You will keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field by conducting literature reviews. Regular interactions with product managers, software engineers, hardware engineers, and stakeholders who will aid in guiding and productizing your work is also part of this role.
You will be tasked to guide end-to-end Computer Vision and Machine Learning methods that have considerable ambiguity, scale, and complexity. Also, building machine learning models, conducting proof-of-concepts, experiments, optimization, and deploying your models into production. You'll work closely with software engineers and product managers in productionizing your ML models. Hands-on data analysis on multi-sensor datasets to develop insights to drive product requirements is also part of the role. Your responsibilities will also include running A/B experiments, gathering data, and performing statistical analysis.
You will also need to establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation, and serving. Researching new and innovative sensor processing and Computer Vision approaches is also part of this role. Besides, you will mentor and help recruit Applied Scientists to the team, present results and explain methods to team leadership as well as write and pursue IP submissions.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience in building machine learning models for business applications
- Ph.D., or Master's degree and 6+ years of applicable research experience
- Proficient in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or similar languages
- Knowledge of neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy, etc.
- Experience with vast scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers total compensation.
