Coupang Play is an OTT (over-the-top) service launched by Coupang in December 2020. It was established as an OTT service to provide more benefits for Coupang customers. Coupang Play can be accessed through mobile devices, tablets, smart TVs, and the viewer's preferred web browsers. Position Overview
The Analytics team at Coupang Play serves as the link between business, product, marketing, and technology, supporting the increase in subscribers and improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs). The Senior Data Analyst of the Analytics team collaborates with various internal stakeholders to develop, expand, and level up the data infrastructure and tools in line with the reporting and forecasting needs of the business, and uses data-based techniques to solve complex business problems.
Our ideal colleague would be someone who can form a strong view on how to implement world-class marketing/growth analytics at Coupang Play, collaborate with various teams to build powerful technical solutions for vague tasks, improve process efficiency, provide tools for strategic decision-making in the field, and drive the overall growth of Coupang Play as a self-driven talent.
Responsibilities
- Identifying opportunities for improving brand awareness and removing barriers to user adoption
- Driving subscriber growth by identifying growth levers for new subscriber acquisition, customer retention, churn prevention, monetization, and lifetime value (LTV) enhancement through collaboration with product, engineering, marketing, and finance teams
- Defining business, growth, and marketing KPIs that are critical to the success of Coupang Play, and developing an infrastructure for automated tracking and reporting of these metrics.
- Collaborating closely with Coupang Play's engineering, product, operations, and finance teams to secure unstructured data from source systems and design and build powerful data pipelines
- Designing, building, and maintaining dashboards to satisfy stakeholders' needs, which can be used to support strategic decision-making
- Using data to identify the best targeting, channels, and messages for increasing user adoption, viewership, and engagement, and measuring the success of marketing campaigns
- Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends and patterns in complex data sets to provide clear and accurate useful insights and proposals
- Building automated solutions to improve and eliminate repetitive analytical tasks
- Performing ad-hoc/end-to-end analysis of strategic issues as per management's needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience in business intelligence, data analysis, data science, or data engineering
- Minimum 5 years practical experience of manipulating complex, unstructured data sets using SQL
- Minimum 5 years experience managing data marketing and data pipelines using ETL tools such as Airflow, Hive, Presto
- Minimum 5 years experience of building management dashboards and visual materials using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView
- Experience in measuring and reporting on various marketing metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROAS, attribution, forecasting.
- Experience in designing A/B tests and multivariate tests and /or interpreting test results using statistical methods and presenting results to a non-specialist audience
- Experience in solving business problems using quantitative techniques and statistical methods such as hypothesis testing, regression, and causal and correlational analysis
- Ability to reverse-engineer the best solution from the requirements of users and the field, even if work guidelines are limited
- Ability to handle multiple professional projects simultaneously in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills, writing skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead your own work, prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and help colleagues do the same
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the OTT video streaming industry or passion for the industry
- Fluent in both English and Korean communication and writing
- Experience in working with datasets using Python, R, SAS, MATLAB or other statistical software
- Experience in data modeling and schema design
