Senior Data Engineer

Based in one of our numerous offices across the USA, you will be working within our world-class data organization to modernize and scale our data warehouse to power our data-centric company and support our rapidly evolving and escalating data requirements. You will support our modern data system composed of Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake. You are someone who can function in a company that grows as speedily as ours by managing multiple moving parts while still maintaining quality, long-term vision, and delivering value to our customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with the Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams to support our modern data system infrastructure (Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Thoughtspot, Airflow, AWS, Atlan). Understand problematic areas and create lasting solutions.
  • Evaluate, optimize and implement standard norms for data ingestion, ETL and data engineering workflows, and data quality frameworks.
  • Work together with engineering and SRE teams to ensure reliable and scalable data storage, processing, and monitoring solutions that align with Navan's standards.
  • Get hands-on with our data. You’ll become highly proficient in our data models, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Document technical specifications, data flows, and system configurations, and contribute to our existing runbooks.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer
  • Experience in building and maintaining ELT/ETL from scratch
  • Proficient expertise in Python, SQL, and cutting-edge tools such as dbt and Airflow
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Experience with Snowflake is a plus)
  • Experience with Github, Jenkins is beneficial
  • Demonstrable experience in data modeling (any methodology) and implementation

The provided pay range shows the expected low and high end of the compensation for this position and may change based on business needs. To determine a successful candidate’s starting salary, we consider various factors, including the primary work location, a review of the candidate’s skills and experience, market needs, and internal parity.

For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes the base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a getting-started draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.
