Since we first opened our doors in 2009, the commercial world has undergone a tremendous transformation, and so has Square. Following our initiation of facilitating anyone to accept payments and never miss a sale, we identified that sellers were hampered by disjointed, obsolete products and tools that wouldn’t cooperate.
Hence, we ventured into software and started creating integrated, omnichannel solutions – to assist sellers sell online, manage inventory, provide buy now, pay later functionality via Afterpay, schedule appointments, engage loyal customers, and hire and pay staff. Throughout this, we've incorporated financial services instruments at the point of sale, enabling merchants to acquire a business loan and manage their cash flow in one convenient location. Afterpay complements our objective of providing omnichannel instruments that unlock valuable growth, enabling sellers to attract next generation shoppers, increase order sizes, and compete at a grander scale.
Currently, we are a partner to sellers of all proportions – large, business-scale enterprises with intricate operations, sellers just starting out, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have since expanded. As our sellers evolve, so do our solutions. A tremendous opportunity lies ahead of us. We’re building a significant, impactful, and enduring business, while simultaneously assisting sellers across the globe to do the same.
