Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Life Sciences

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Faculty, you will design, build, and deploy production-grade software, infrastructure, and MLOps systems, leveraging machine learning. Your efforts will help clients address high-impact challenges in Life Sciences. This role is engineering-focused, with a strong emphasis on operationalized machine learning. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing new methodologies and championing best practices for AI systems at scale
  • Supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders in deploying ML solutions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including commercial, data science, product management, and design
  • Building and maintaining software and ML infrastructure
  • Creating reusable, scalable tools for ML systems
  • Understanding and addressing customer needs
  • Implementing Faculty’s best practices for operationalizing ML software

Key Qualifications:

While we don’t expect applicants to have experience in every area, the following are illustrative requirements (70% is a rough guide):

  • Experience in Software Engineering with proficiency in Python
  • Technical knowledge of cloud architecture, security, deployment, and open-source tools (hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform)
  • Experience with containers, specifically Docker and Kubernetes
  • Comfort in a high-growth startup environment
  • Understanding of the full machine learning lifecycle and familiarity with frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Knowledge of probability and statistics along with common supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
