Senior Machine Learning Engineer

The Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Striveworks, you will be challenged—and trusted—from the first day to be a crucial contributor to the company's projects and its direction.

Our products are used by customers to develop, deploy, and maintain production ML models. We are searching for engineers with a wide-ranging experience and interest in both machine learning and software or data engineering. You are suitable for this challenge if you possess and value technical expertise, and constantly push the limits of your abilities. You are result-oriented, not driven by requirements.

Everyday, your tasks will include:

• Building tools around cutting-edge AI/ML techniques
• Coding everything
• Working with a nimble and fast team within the organization.

The expected base pay for this position is between $150,000 – $190,000 per year. At Striveworks, the total compensation package includes a competitive base , annual performance-driven equity grants, as well as a generous yearly cash bonus.

This job provides a fully remote work setup, but you can also opt for a hybrid/onsite arrangement at our northwest Austin, Texas office.

What we are seeking:

• 8+ years of hands-on development experience
• Experience in building libraries and/or frameworks
• Knowledge of deep learning and experience with deep learning frameworks (such as , JAX, or Tensorflow)
• Experience with Huggingface and the Transformers library
• Experience with writing efficient and scalable processes
• Experience in operationalizing models into a production environment
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with ML serving technologies and protocols such as Kserve, MLServer, BentoML, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of Python
• Self-directed, driven personality

The Wish List

We highly value the candidates with the above qualifications and appreciate and take into account additional attributes such as:

• Understanding of synchronous/asynchronous programming, concurrency
• Experience in designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular
• Experience with hyperparameter tuning and neural network architecture search during training models and technologies used to support and automate the search procedure such as Katib, Ray Tune, etc.
• Experience with Cython and/or CUDA
• Experience in writing services in Python using modern frameworks like FastAPI
• Experience in writing services in Go, Java, Rust, C++, or similar
