Who You Are

We seek an ML expert who thrives on tackling first-principle problems. You're innovative, driven, and love making an immediate impact. You excel at solving challenging issues rather than focusing on marginal improvements. Ideally, you’ll be able to work from our NYC HQ a few days a week with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for production use
• Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis to identify ML opportunities, potential data issues, and plan model design, training, and evaluation strategies
• Propose and implement new features to enhance model performance and business logic
• Write and review production-quality PRs daily
• Translate client business problems into ML problems
• Create scalable ML models for claim time series forecasting and NLP text understanding
• Continuously learn and grow in the data and ML domain, focusing on large-scale structured and unstructured datasets

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an ML Engineer / Data Scientist in highly scalable production environments
• Proficient with data science and ML tools (sklearn, Keras/PyTorch, tuning frameworks), data analysis, and modeling. Comfortable with Python/Pandas/Jupyter
• Strong team player with solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Dagster, BigQuery, Vertex AI, GCP, Terraform, Spark, Kubernetes
• Experience owning, deploying, and maintaining model-serving pipelines in production
• Expertise in writing clean, efficient, and easy-to-understand code with unit tests and functional design patterns
• Advanced skills in statistical modeling, especially probabilistic programming
• Values of ambition, collaboration, and empathy
• Open to giving and receiving critical feedback and collaborating effectively across teams
