Job Description

The Sr Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of private cloud PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and VNA (Vendor Neutral Archive) software solutions for clients. The Sr Quality Engineer works cross-functionally with various teams such as solution architecture, site reliability engineering, hosting, networking and infrastructure, product management, product development, application deployment and technical integration professional services, as well as customers and their 3rd party vendors to plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of the client's software solution and the execution of system, customer, vendor, end-to-end and performance tests; and manage complex performance issues across the testing through stabilization phases.

 

Reporting to the Implementation Quality Director Professional Services, you will contribute to defining and continuously improving the processes, tools, measures, and success criteria for implementation quality, focusing on delivering software with no or minimum errors. 


 

Major Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities of the Quality Engineer include:

 

  • Developing and reviewing test plans and cases to ensure that the software solution meets client requirements. 
  • Conducting execution of test phases, tracking progress, developing and reviewing test reports.
  • Providing advanced resolution support for complex technical issues arising during the implementation, testing, and go live phases, collaborating with cross-functional teams for swift issue resolution.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project deadlines are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Maintaining solution architecture documentation related to installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Contributing to the development of quality control processes for customer implementations.
  • Gathering and analysing lessons learned to lead and manage the continuous improvement of the implementation quality process.
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating between all teams - Infrastructure, Support, R&D, SMEs, Sales Engineers, and business stakeholders, and client teams.
  • Serving as a technical expert and point of contact between the customer, sales, product development, and cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinating the deployment of private cloud or on-premise PACS and VNA software solution architecture for clients.
  • Providing mentorship to junior team members as required.
  • Acting as an escalation point for customers and team members to resolve complex / critical customer solutions and situations.
  • Providing test summary reports suitable for executive-level customer communication.
  • Cooperating with peers across Intelerad to prioritize Intelerad's deliverables for all customers as needed.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with Intelerad's policies and compliance procedures, including those governing the handling of PHI and PII.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or any related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in the healthcare medical imaging or related industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing PACS and VNA software, with at least 2 years of experience in a consulting or professional services.
  • Private cloud deployment experience; and public cloud AWS, Azure knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, database management, and security.
  • Experience with functional and performance testing of software.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and customers simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and experience with integration to DICOM, and HL7 standards.
  • Understanding of virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies is a plus.
  • Certification in PACS or VNA.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging and the healthcare industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% to client sites.
  • This role is expected to be 70-80% billable.
