The Center for Quantification of Imaging Data from MAX IV (QIM) is seeking a skilled individual to join our team at DTU Compute in the Section for Visual Computing. Your mission? To play a pivotal role in planning and developing the QIM platform at the intersection of AI and 3D imaging. This opportunity is perfect for anyone interested in contributing to the next generation of deep learning image analysis techniques for 3D data.
AI-based deep learning holds tremendous potential for the analysis of 3D images, which pose numerous challenging and unsolved problems, opening new fields of AI research. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and testing DTU software tools, customizing scripts, and creating intuitive image analysis pipelines and interfaces.
Our 3D images are volumetric scans using µCT, widely employed for investigating biological systems and understanding the structure of materials. To support research in AI and 3D imaging, we have established a platform for deploying and developing new deep learning algorithms for large-scale 3D images. Your work will significantly impact both fields, making you a key member of an IT development team that collaborates closely with researchers using the platform.
As a Senior Research Software Specialist in the QIM Center, you will coordinate a team of developers tasked with evolving the existing QIM platform for data storage and analysis. Your primary focus will involve designing, refining, and testing solutions based on user feedback. This platform serves two distinct user groups: deep learning researchers and imaging researchers, each with varying levels of computer science expertise. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the platform meets the needs of both groups, requiring active user engagement to understand their requirements and guide the platform's development.
You should have a background in data science and proficiency in coordinating software development projects, as well as experience with image analysis and machine learning. You need strong software development skills, project management experience, and a passion for advancing scientific research through technology.
You should enjoy making a team of specialists work together to solve advanced tasks. Given the diversity of research communities, it is essential that you are pragmatic and focused on finding solutions that enable scientists to carry out their research effectively. We value team-oriented individuals with excellent problem-solving skills who are enthusiastic about working in a research environment.
We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international atmosphere focused on research, teaching, scientific dissemination, innovation, and scientific advice. Professionalism is a cornerstone of our organization, and skills development is integral to our work. You will be employed as a Special Advisor in accordance with the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). This is a full-time position based at DTU Lyngby Campus.
Please submit your online application no later than 24 June 2024 (23:59 Danish time). Use the “Apply now” link to fill out the form and attach your motivated application, CV with relevant portfolio or
