At Databricks, we are expanding our Machine Learning (ML) Practice team in response to growing demand for Large Language Model (LLM)-based solutions. This exciting remote role is open to candidates across the U.S., with a strong preference for those located in the Bay Area.
Your Role and Impact
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will:
- Develop innovative LLM solutions utilizing customer data for various applications including RAG architectures and natural language querying.
- Enhance and scale data science workloads, applying best MLOps practices to deploy these solutions across diverse domains.
- Provide expert advice on data science architecture, tooling, and best practices to data teams.
- Contribute to community knowledge by presenting at top conferences like Data+AI Summit.
- Offer technical mentorship within Databricks' extensive ML expert community.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to influence Databricks' product roadmap based on field insights.
What We Look For
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Deep expertise in natural language processing technologies including fine-tuning and deploying LLMs with tools like HuggingFace and OpenAI.
- At least 4 years of hands-on industry experience in data science, proficient with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch.
- A strong background in deploying machine learning solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent communication skills capable of teaching complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A passion for collaborative problem-solving and lifelong learning in the realm of ML.
[Preferred] Experience working with Apache Spark™ to manage large-scale distributed datasets.

Salary and Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair compensation. The salary range for this position stretches from $124,800 to $220,800, varying by zone and individual qualifications. Our comprehensive compensation package also includes potential bonuses and equity.
