About the Role

As a Staff Data Engineer at Flo Health, you’ll be part of a world-class team of product builders, including engineers, data scientists, growth hackers, user researchers, designers, and medical experts. We focus on building apps that provide long-term value to our millions of users worldwide. Our engineers enhance access to essential health information using machine learning and AI to offer accurate cycle predictions and personalized, medically credible health tips.

We seek an individual who understands the value of data, considers it a valuable resource, and possesses strong engineering skills. In this role, you will be responsible for scalable data pipelines, data quality, and feature engineering for our machine learning models, delivering accurate, personal, and explainable solutions for women’s health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape strategies for Big Data Solutions and advance our Data Platform Product.
  • Design tools and components for data users.
  • Engineer scalable and reliable data pipelines.
  • Ensure data quality.
  • Collaborate with backend and machine learning engineers in a cross-functional team.
  • Maintain attention to detail and oversee production processes.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in an Engineering role.
  • Strong programming skills in Scala or Python.
  • Proven experience with Data Platforms (Data Lake/LakeHouse).
  • Expert knowledge of Spark.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Experience with cloud data stacks.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AWS & Databricks.
  • Experience with data modeling.
  • Experience with data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with production Machine Learning systems.
