The team
In this role, you will report to our global Head of Talent & Leadership. ING's Talent & Leadership team is part of the larger Talent & Learning team. The team closely collaborates to ensure responsibility for talent visibility, talent attraction and defining what it means to be an ING leader.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Talent Specialist & Analyst, you will support the operationalization of our talent strategy, which includes managing global talent data and ensuring the highest data quality to facilitate a data-driven talent strategy. You’ll cooperate closely with the Global Head of Talent & Learning & Global Talent Analytics Expert and aid the team to convert business strategy into talent requirements, and empower leadership with talent data, analysis and intelligence to drive impactful strategic decisions. Your work will extend across our global locations, business domains and functions.
You will need deep understanding of our talent strategy to support its evidence-based operationalization. This requires managing data, ensuring highest data quality, analyzing data, converting data (from multiple sources, often messy, but rich with potential!) into understandable insights, focusing on delivery and outcomes, and building robust partnerships with the Global Talent & Learning team and Data Management and People Analytics team.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Global Talent Analytics Expert and extended HR team to gather and coordinate data on our talent pipelines and convert the data into actionable insights through data analysis that drives specific action plans.
- Own the data gathering, data cleaning and data management process for talent review cycles.
- Partner with the Global Head of Talent & Learning and Global Talent Analytics Expert to continuously enhance our internal talent data management.
- Collaborate with our Data Management & People Analytics teams to streamline data and increase data quality and use their capabilities and expertise.
- Support the Global Talent Analytics Expert and the Global Head of Talent & Learning to shape ING’s revamped talent strategy, sourcing internal and external employee insights and guiding the development of new solutions that equip ING to attract, develop and retain the talent we need.
- Equip HR and business teams with valuable data and leverage it to make better and more informed talent decisions, supported by user-centric and intuitive tools and analysis.

- You should have knowledge and experience working in a talent & learning department.
- You should demonstrate excellent data management and data analytics skills.
- You should have a strong eye for detail and handle data management conscientiously.
- You should be able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
- You should be energized by the opportunity to assist the team in building and shaping a data-driven talent function.
- You should not only be comfortable working in a setting where business processes and tools are changing but be proactive in impacting development.
- You should be able to productively partner with people across the business, from HR Business Partners to data scientists, to progress the business by leveraging streamlined data insights.
- You should know about quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistical analysis; ideally, you have expertise and experience using and developing solutions in PowerBi and Excel.
- You should enjoy both working with data and stakeholders to define new solutions and apply them in practice, demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Previous experience with Workday will be valued.
