JOB DESCRIPTION:

The US Master Data Manager will be part of the regional Operational Finance structure in Dentsu Americas. Master data is the core data that is vital for running operations within our organization - it provides context for business transactions and operations. This role requires sharp attention to detail, interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work directly with all parties, and a passion for data.

The primary responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Develop and implement a master data strategy and governance process
  • Design and implement a master data governance process including standardized rules and change management procedures, SOPs and other documentation
  • Identify, label and document all master data required for business transaction processing
  • Partner with the business to identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes within and across business lines through the effective use and management of master data
  • Review, format and prepare mass data loads into D365
  • Develop a clear understanding of company hierarchy levels
  • Assist in re-configuration and master data issues that need change management
  • Establish processes for the periodic review of master data to ensure consistency and integrity
  • Research and resolve business / operational issues resulting from master data
  • Respond to internal customers on status of issues, change requests and queries
  • Implement and comply with the Internal Control Framework and JSOX within areas of responsibility
  • Support external audit, JSOX and internal audit processes as required
  • Partner with US Finance in mastering data management best practices through adherence to Group policies and procedures

Other Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities to simplify business practices and controls
  • Support business transformation efforts, aligning with the overall finance transformation model
  • Support critical system implementations and business process changes
  • Responsible for the development and measurement of KPIs for area of responsibility
  • Partner with the business regarding changes to master data

Role scope:

  • Geographical coverage: all US Service Lines & HQ (excluding Media)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Business, MIS, Accounting/Operations or related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in master data management
  • Knowledge of core Financial and operational business processes including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report
  • Knowledgeable of master data management best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing governance processes and process documentation
  • Ability to lead and support change initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proactive with strong focus on customer service and risk management
  • Attention to detail but with the ability to see the ‘big picture’ impact on the business
  • Strong business partnering and influencing skills
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 or similar systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Outlook) required
  • Media / advertising industry experience a plus
  • 5+ years of hands-on front end software implementation experience with Microsoft D365 Finance
  • Project or Program Manager of at least a full lifecycle Microsoft D365 Finance and Supply Chain implementation projects
  • D365 Power Platform experience a plus but not required
  • PMP, Project Management Professional, Certification a plus but not required

Business and role context:

The Dentsu US market is comprised of three Service lines, each consisting of several brands/companies and a US HQ for centralized expenses. The US is the second-largest market for Dentsu, representing approximately 25% of global revenue (2022 group net revenue: 1.12BN Japanese Yen). The market is complex, driven by scale, number of service lines, and the operational model of "ONE DENTSU". The Service Lines offer different products and services, growth strategies, and dynamics.

The US Master Data Manager is a newly created role, reporting into the Director – US Accounts Payable / Operations. Dentsu has grown over time both organically and through acquisitions, resulting in multiple processes and Financial and Operational systems. This role is critical for developing consistent master data management practices and ensuring the integrity of financial and operational data within and across key systems, including as those systems are consolidated.

Additional Information

The anticipated range for this position is $68,000 - $110,400. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
