Senior Data Scientist (Optimization + AWS), Canada

We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist with solid optimization experience (specifically, integer programming, mixed integer programming), AWS experience, and strong coding skills, preferably from Ad-Tech/Media-Tech domains. This individual will be responsible for writing complex production-level code. Key Responsibilities - Effectively communicate the analytics approach and how it meets and addresses the business partners' objectives. - Advocate and instruct on the significance of data-driven decision-making, focusing on the "how and why" of solutions. - Lead analytic approaches; collaboratively integrate solutions into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts, and developers. - Develop repeatable, interpretable, dynamic, and scalable models that are effortlessly incorporated into analytic data products. - Collaborate, coach, and learn from a growing team of experienced Data Scientists. - Keep abreast of external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements. - Address demands from regulators, investor relations etc., by developing innovative solutions to meet objectives using cutting-edge techniques and tools. Requirements - A Ph.D. (highly preferred) or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field. - At least 10+ years of extensive Data Science experience, robust Optimization experience, and AWS experience. Proficiency in Python + Scala coding is necessary. - Solid Optimization experience including Combinatorial Optimization, Integer programming, Mixed Integer programming, Greedy Heuristics, Commercial and Open Source Solvers, Time Series and Forecasting Techniques, Cardinality Algorithms, and Retrieval Augmented Generation is compulsory. - Extensive knowledge of statistics and statistical packages. Highly proficient with Python, Python + Scala, and SQL coding skills. This individual will be responsible for writing complex production-level codes. - Hands-on experience building time-series / forecasting models is required. - Experience in Ad-Tech / Media-Tech industry is highly favored. - Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to comprehend the needs of business partners and deliver solutions.
