As a Principal Engineer for our Data Platform team, you will be tasked with modernizing our data platform and practice. You will play a key role in selecting and implementing technology, that will be used throughout CLEAR to facilitate data-driven decisions, produce a top-tier product, and enable future ML/AI use cases. You will cooperate with multiple engineering teams, leading and providing insight and assisting teams to integrate with the data platform. You will also be a vital partner to various teams across CLEAR, including Business Intelligence, Product Management, Security, and more.
What you'll do:
- Establish connections with teams across CLEAR to guarantee data solutions address current and future use cases.
- Lead the transition to an updated data stack where Analysts and Engineers can independently action changes in an automated, tested, and top-quality manner.
- Incorporate data governance solutions into every part of the platform.
- Promote the use of data across CLEAR to enhance our decisions and products.
What you're great at:
- 10+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on developing scalable data solutions.
- Skilled in a modern programming language, such as Python.
- Developing a modern data stack, using tools such as dbt, Dagster, Airflow, Snowflake, etc.
- Expertise with RDBMS, NoSQL, and real-time streaming systems like Kafka or Pulsar.
- Outstanding communication skills, capable of elucidating technical topics to non-technical audiences, manage up, down, and across.
- Experience with or developing a data governance program.
