ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a Data Engineering Team Lead to oversee and direct a team of data engineers in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing an agile engineering team, prioritizing workflows, working with stakeholders to draft requirements, and providing technical oversight. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of data products to both internal and external stakeholders. As the Data Engineering Team Lead, you will be in charge of managing engineering development sprints, providing code reviews, maintaining technical documentation, and guiding the team on best practices. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate those requirements into data infrastructure solutions. Also, you will work closely with other members of the engineering team to guarantee that data infrastructure and pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: • Lead a team of data engineers to develop and deliver data products • Prioritize workflows and ensure efficient management of development sprints • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate those into data products and solutions • Provide technical oversight and guidance to the team • Develop and maintain technical documentation for data infrastructure and pipelines • Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure that data infrastructure and pipelines are scalable, reliable, and efficient • Continually enhance data engineering practices, tools, and processes • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and analysts YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH: • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or related field • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture • Experience managing an agile data engineering team • Experience in data product lifecycle management, data infrastructure management, data architecture, and data pipelines • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, especially AWS • Experience with SQL and database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, and/or MySQL • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and deployment • Experience with ETL tools such as Airflow, Luigi, or Apache Beam • Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts • Strong communication and collaboration skills WHAT YOU’LL LOVE ABOUT US: • RRSP/401(k) Matching • Comprehensive Health Plans • Unlimited Vacation/PTO • Travel Experience Credit • Annual Wellness Credit • Team Events and Monthly Lunches • Home Office/Commuter Credit • Work From Anywhere Program • Parental Leave Top Up • Adventure Pass OUR PROCESS: Plusgrade is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to providing an accessible recruitment process.
