We're on the hunt for an exceptional Senior Research Data Scientist | Machine Learning | Personalized Medicine | Deep Tech Startup to join our team as we aim to revolutionize personalized medicine 📈

In this role, you will be a key member of iLoF's data science team. We work on predicting medical conditions using biomedical data and photonic signals, and you will play a key part in improving our models (more detailed job responsibilities are covered below). iLoF is seeking to grow its department over time, and as the company expands, you can anticipate playing a role in developing one of the world’s best AI-powered bioinformatics diagnostics platform.

About your Role 📰 /  What will you be doing? 👀

• Manage the full pipeline of specific projects independently from a data science perspective.
• Probe deep into our proprietary data sets, exploring, analyzing, and drawing insights that advance personalized medicine.
• Create advanced algorithms, statistical models, and machine learning techniques to identify meaningful patterns and trends in complex data.
• Work closely with the head of the department and other teams, using data to make an impact on product development and decision-making.
• Stay informed about the latest advances in data science, machine learning, and personalized medicine, implementing new methodologies and technologies to enhance our products and services.
• Clearly communicate findings, methodologies, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Enjoy dealing with unique data sets and human-derived signals :)

Requirements ✔️

• Should be an experienced professional with deep understanding of data science, excited about delving into our unique and exclusive datasets.
• You should be excited about exploring new types of data. You should either have experience in hands-on applied research on medical-data dealing with omics datasets (genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, etc.), or possess the right skills to start working on such data.
• Proficient at handling a variety of data types, from tabular to time series, physical & physiological signals, and so on.
• Eager to contribute new algorithms and machine learning models to our cloud libraries of diseases.
• Being a strong team player is crucial, with solid technical leadership experience and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Most importantly, you should have an insatiable hunger for innovation and a strong drive for excellence.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or a similar field. Outstanding candidates with a Master's degree and proven research experience will also be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in academic or industry setting solving problems related to data insights extraction, preferably biomedical signals.
• Experience in data science applied to omics data is preferred — helpful, but not mandatory. (You’ll be trained on the job).
• Experience working in fast-paced environments, preferably in a deep-tech startup or similar high-growth setting.
• Extensive experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis to derive valuable insights.
• Deep understanding and practical application of statistical concepts, predictive modeling, and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous challenges in data analysis and signal processing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supervising junior members is welcomed but not mandatory.
