Our client is looking to hire an eDiscovery Data Analyst (EDA) to join the eDiscovery Technology Services Team. The eDiscovery Team conducts electronic data searches for agencies in response to public records requests (PRR) and litigation among other needs. The team primarily works with legal teams of any agency requesting eDaaS (eDiscovery as a service), a core service built from scratch by the team. The EDA will report to the eDiscovery Operations Manager and will be involved in the search, preservation, and collection of electronically stored information (ESI). The EDA should be detail-oriented, flexible, and interested in learning new technical/eDiscovery tools and procedures. They will support eDiscovery activities regarding data preservation management, data collection, and eDiscovery data extraction, offering direct support to litigation, PRR, and other state business requests that require eDiscovery services. Requirements: Primary Responsibilities: 1. Assist project managers, Records Access Officers (RAOs) and General Counsels in all stages of large eDiscovery projects. 2. Consult with participants and senior IT personnel to develop data collection and data processing solutions as necessary while working with clients on low to high complexity activities. 3. Design and implement infrastructure necessities as defined by business processes, and technical standards and capabilities in adherence to eDiscovery industry best practices. 4. Collaborate with the end point infrastructure, exchange administrators and infrastructure security teams in providing secure solutions whilst executing eDiscovery in their enterprise environment. 5. Perform technical/eDiscovery tasks using defined procedures and tools. 6. Identify data custodian user IDs and data store locations, manage the data collection from data custodians, and communicating with them and requestors as needed. 7. Search data upon request or as directed by authorized personnel. 8. Utilize IT skills to generate solutions to exceptions that occur during the execution of technical/eDiscovery tasks. 9. Communicate potential tech/eDiscovery solutions to eDiscovery management, requestors, and other IT groups. 10. Analyze all technical aspects of the eDiscovery environments using tools such as Active Directory, Exchange Admin Console, Security & Compliance Center and other administrative tools. 11. Work closely with agency tech teams, stakeholders, O365 migration and other special project teams to cater to the technical requirements of the native environments where eDiscovery is implemented. 12. Solve complex issues and communicate problem resolutions and additional information to management, customer groups, project teams, and other IT support groups. 13. Create and maintain technical documentation. 14. Ensure that technical standards and policies meet the requirements of both agency and legal customers. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Ability to meet deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in a time critical, highly confidential process. 2. Working knowledge of a query language used for document retrieval. 3. Ability to use and learn highly technical software. 4. Experience documenting how work was performed and the results of such work. 5. Ability to confidentially handle work processes and activities. 6. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. 7. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts both in written and verbal communication to users with varying levels of technical comprehension. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. 1-2 years of verifiable IT Security, Operations, or Technical Support experience required, with some exposure to eDiscovery concepts. 2. 2 years of experience creating Boolean search terms is strongly preferred. 3. Understanding of eDiscovery or System Administration practices, terminology, concepts, and tools. 4. Experience working with eDiscovery tools such as Microsoft Security and Compliance Center for Office 365, Exchange 2013 eDiscovery component; experience with any or all is considered advantageous. 5. Advanced knowledge of PowerShell or other similar scripting language along with the ability to run or research complex scripts when required. 6. Familiarity with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). 7. Understanding or experience with well-accepted project management methodology preferred. 8. Ability to meet deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in a time critical, highly confidential process. 9. Experience interacting with outside counsel, eDiscovery vendors, and other IT groups such as messaging, networking teams, and desktop support. Education and Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience required.
