Role Overview:
As a seasoned Machine Learning Engineer, you'll leverage large-scale ML systems to enhance drug discovery and scale Sanofi's AI solutions for future patients. You excel in collaborative environments and can lead technical decision-making. Your expertise in deploying AI/ML solutions and infrastructure will drive improvements in software engineering and ML integration alongside our computational and data scientists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build cloud-based ML products with automated CI/CD pipelines within agile pods, including monitoring and retraining ML models.
- Collaborate with computational scientists and data engineers to design and implement ML applications.
- Support the MLOps lifecycle for new and existing ML applications, managing releases and changes.
- Act as an ML systems architecture expert, developing and maintaining enterprise standards, user guides, and FAQs.
- Ensure seamless ML integration, including app monitoring, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- Maintain robust user relationships and create educational content.
- Stay updated on emerging tools and technologies, maintaining a curiosity-driven approach to learning.
- Build and evaluate models from diverse data sources using advanced ML technologies.
- Work closely with computational scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and UX designers on international projects focused on protein therapeutics.
- Update and report project results to interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of industry experience preferred, though new grads are welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in data science, statistics, software engineering, modular design, and design thinking.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML development and model deployment.
- Experience working in agile environments and with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of ML and AI concepts with hands-on development experience.
- Knowledge of deployment and agile lifecycle management of data science applications.
- Competency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, Spark) and frameworks (e.g., Airflow, MLFlow, Argo).
- Experience with high-performance computing environments.
- Proficiency with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, SageMaker, CloudWatch, EC2, EFS, FSX).
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong teamwork abilities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing lifecycles in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of protein structure or sequence is a plus.
- Understanding of the pharma R&D process is advantageous.
