Job Description

Working as an MLOps Engineer at Verisk involves:

  • Being an active member of and contributing to a broad, dynamic community of Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers in areas like P&C Insurance, Life Insurance, Energy, Financial Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and Geopolitical Security.
  • Collaborating closely with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to develop workflows and scale ML models into production.
  • Frequently witnessing the direct impacts of your work through the creation of new products, enhancement of existing ones, generating consulting revenue, or improving internal processes.
  • Working with the latest technology and consistently developing new skills and abilities.

Working at Verisk’s Insurance Claims Group involves:

  • Being a part of an Analytics Center of Excellence that develops AI and machine learning products for Verisk’s P&C insurance claims sector worldwide.
  • Developing analytic solutions that expedite the financial recovery of millions of people following unfortunate events like house fires, motor accidents, severe weather events, workplace injuries, etc.
  • Engaging with advanced AI Implementation solutions that form the core functionality of leading market products used by thousands of insurance professionals and consumers.
  • Collaborating on a range of technologies and products to overhaul and replace traditional processes and systems in fields like fraud detection and deep learning.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Engineer with a strong background in machine learning operations, AWS, Python, ReactJS, CI/CD, and the ability to develop custom APIs for MLOps tools. In this role, you will be instrumental in deploying, monitoring, and optimizing machine learning models and applications while enhancing our in-house tools for improved efficiency and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Learning Operations:

  • Work together with data scientists and machine learning engineers to dispatch machine learning models into production.
  • Develop and manage machine learning pipelines for model deployment, assessment, and monitoring.

AWS Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee and refine cloud infrastructure on AWS for machine learning workloads.
  • Employ AWS services for storage, compute, and data processing.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation.

Python, API and Web Development:

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts and libraries for automation, data processing, and in-house tools.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom APIs using Python for MLOps tools and automation.
  • Ensure APIs are robust, secure, and well-documented.
  • Cooperate with internal teams to comprehend API requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of web applications using React and modern web development technologies.

CI/CD Implementation:

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for machine learning model deployment, application development, and in-house tool deployment.
  • Automate testing, deployment, and rollback procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize CI/CD workflows for efficiency.

 

Qualifications

  • A Graduate degree (M.S.) in a quantitative/STEM field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an MLOps Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, and many more.
  • Proficient in Python for machine learning operations, automation, and API development.
  • Practical experience with containerization and orchestration tools (such as Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (like TensorFlow, , scikit-learn).
  • Experience with React and modern web development technologies.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (for instance, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
