Day in a Life:
This Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with Dr. Zheng Wei whose research interests encompass Statistical Machine Learning, Bayesian Statistical methods, and Statistical Methods for Big Data or related areas. Specifically, the candidate is required to develop novel Statistical Machine Learning methods and Bayesian Statistical methods and algorithms for both high-dimensional and big data.
Responsibilities:
Develop Statistical Machine Learning for both high-dimensional and big data.
Implement Bayesian Statistical methods and algorithms to real-world datasets/systems.
Write, review, and edit research articles, and present research on conferences.
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in either Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or closely related field.
A solid background in several fields of Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, and Data Science.
Proficient in R, Python, C++ (other coding languages skill may also be considered).
High self-motivation and have a strong passion for computational research.
Excellent communication skills and to be able to work well both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with faculty, fellow postdocs, undergraduate and graduate students.
