Job Description

THE POSITION:

  • Leads a wide variety of projects focusing on evidence synthesis and statistics, including NMA, MAIC, and PSM methods, demonstrating robust methodological expertise in ITC and RWE for HEOR and HTA including Bayesian statistical methods
  • Participates in multiple operational and business development initiatives including staff assignments, performance evaluations, recruitment presentations, strategic planning for the company, among other tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The job involves ensuring outstanding business outcomes through the contributions of their teams. These results are accomplished by:

  • Outlining project scope, strategy, and timelines
  • Leading the development of proposals and presenting them to clients
  • Assigning tasks to junior staff and contractors and overseeing their work
  • Managing projects independently or with minimal senior management supervision
  • Encouraging team members to take responsibility and be proactive in their work
  • Identifying and resolving any issues or conflicts within the project teams
  • Anticipating and managing changes in project scope, potential problems, and formulating contingency plans
  • Overseeing and implement quality control activities
  • Ensuring that the projects are billed on time
  • Conducting project reviews post-completion to assess aspects like time taken and budgets
  • Leading all client meetings independently
  • Developing own client base
  • Assisting in business development through presentations, repeat business
  • Gathering feedback to gauge client satisfaction
  • Identifying the need for and developing best practices and tools for effective project execution, project and employee management, and training
  • Making contributions to decisions regarding company direction, staffing, and workloads
  • Recognizing the need for additional staff and/or consultants
  • Providing effective mentorship to new employees and other employees as needed
  • Participating in the hiring process including creating job ads, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, checking references, and making hiring decisions
  • Participating in regular management meetings to discuss proposals, project statuses, staff allocation and needs, project conflicts, and other operational activities
  • Overseeing operational activities
  • Identifying opportunities for and devising strategies to enhance company and project efficiencies
  • Conducting three-month reviews, summer check-ins, and annual reviews
  • Development, administration, and monitoring of performance improvement plans
  • Performing any other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Travel: Some travel may be required for meetings with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
    • Overtime and/or work during weekend/evenings may be required to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements below represent the required experience, education, knowledge, skill, and/or abilities.

  • MSc or PhD degree in a medical- or mathematics-related field such as biology, epidemiology, pharmacology, health economics, or statistics
  • Eight years of relevant work experience in health research, biostatistics, health economics, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and experience in statistical techniques for HEOR, such as NMA, MAIC, and PSM methods, and demonstrated advanced methodological skills in ITC and RWE for HEOR and HTA including Bayesian statistical methods
  • Proven track record in HEOR and evidence synthesis
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and implementing innovative and practical solutions to complex issues
  • Prior success working on a variety of RWD projects covering design, strategy, execution, and communication
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of coding languages, most importantly R (other examples: WinBugs, OpenBugs)
  • Experience in business and/or proposal development
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in computer programming software like VBA, or other software related to the role like EndNote, statistical packages, is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking abilities, and critical thinking capabilities
  • Able to lead project teams and client meetings

  • Knowledge of current trends in health economics, statistics, data analytics, evidence synthesis or medical writing

Office: The essential functions of the job frequently require the individual to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk, and hear; occasionally, the individual may need to lift or move up to 25 pounds. The noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate, with frequent interruptions and multitasking demands.

EVERSANA is committed to offering competitive salaries and benefits to all its employees. The anticipated baseline salary range for this position is $206,000 to $240,000, which is not applicable to locations outside of Canada. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location to account for differences in cost of living. EVERSANA maintains the right to modify this baseline salary range at any time.
