Job Description

What the Data Services Team does at Visa:

The Data Services Team at Visa plays a diverse and dynamic role focussing primarily on data management. Their main responsibility is to assure the reliability and consistency of both inbound and outbound data, involving proactive file queue management and technical analysis of anomalies.

This role also emphasizes proactive management and resolution of customer and issuer incidents, maintaining our reputation for swift and efficient incident resolution, in line with Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards. Issues that affect the timeliness and accuracy of inbound or outbound transactional data loading are identified and proactively managed until resolution.

Another crucial aspect of this role is Effective Change Management. The responsibility here is to facilitate smooth transitions, including onboarding and offboarding of customers, issuers, and data feeds. The role requires regular communication with customers, banks, and other transactional data issuers, managing incoming data from these and distributing outgoing data. The objective is to build strong working relationships with these parties to ensure smooth transition processes.

While this summary provides the main responsibilities, this role may also require performing specific tasks as needed. The ultimate goal is to foster teamwork and collaboration, developing an effective and efficient department that aligns with our team's mission. Occasionally, this position may require work outside of standard hours.

Why this is important to Visa

The Data Services team is accountable for initiating data loading and delivery incidents with partners and proactively notifying them about any failures. The team also manages operational relationships with data issuers and collaborates with them on behalf of our customers to fulfill requests.

As a core team in the business, Data Services with its expertise in data management, is involved in many internal exercises and projects. We play a critical role in configuring data loading components in production/UAT environments, aiding the transition for any new partner.

Considering the service levels we need to meet with multiple partners, we have proactively created processes for handling critical file failures to minimize the impact on our customers. We not only work on Service Requests to boost revenue but also generate billing opportunities that enable Client Relationship teams to invoice partners for requested data corrections.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can divide their time between remote work and the office. They are expected to be in the office for 2-3 set days in a week (as determined by the leadership/site), with a general expectation of spending 50% or more of their time in the office based on business needs.
