You are responsible for

  • Design and build data models to provide efficient reporting and analytics capability.

  • Design solutions and build highly scalable data pipelines using tools and technologies like Python, SQL, Azure Databricks to induct data from various systems.

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and build pipelines.

  • Review, enhance, design, and develop ETL processes.

  • Educate staff members through training and individual support.

  • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

Technical Knowledge and Skills required

  • Proficiency in designing and building dimensional data models to improve accessibility, efficiency, and quality of data.

  • Tech Stack:

    • Python: pandas, NumPy or/and Py-spark

    • SQL: SQL Server

    • Databricks, delta tables

  • Building data pipelines (ETL)

    • Extracting data from different sources like SQL Database, Data Lakes, 3rd party services through API's.

    • Writing efficient and readable data transformations with pandas and/or .

    • Building rigorous testing and validation steps on a dataset.

    • Exporting transformed data as a flat file, SQL table or delta table(parquet)

  • Being able to build automation scripts using Python.

  • Proficient enough in Python and SQL to be able to understand and debug existing Code.

  • Writing readable code, adhering to "Clean Code" Principles

  • Understanding of distributed data systems and experience with advanced analytics and machine learning is highly desirable.

Soft Skills Required

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Highly driven, energetic, flexible, resourceful & ability to multitask

  • Clarity of thoughts and vision

  • Ability to ideate and bring solutions to the table

  • Adherence to timelines, without sacrificing quality of output.

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of increasingly responsible experience in translating business requirement, into technical requirement and building an ETL pipeline and data models (using SQL, python, Azure, and other tools)

  • Should have worked in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills. Should be self-driven, highly motivated and have the ability to learn quickly.

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Azure architect certification preferred.

Academics

  • B. tech from a good institute in a quantitative discipline

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL is a must.

  • Strong exposure to Databases and data structures of cloud-based technologies.
