Job Description

Join our team at Navy Federal Credit Union as a Data Analyst II in Lending Analytics. Utilize your advanced analytical and statistical modeling skills to analyze extensive data sets, supporting business operations and organizational goals. Your role will involve defining data requirements, performing data collection, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization. Your expertise will help identify trends and patterns, answer business questions, and inform decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities include discovering opportunities to enhance the efficiency and automation of data analysis processes, participating in essential projects with minimum supervision, and ensuring the completion of assigned tasks and deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models, and analytical results.
  • Retrieve, analyze, validate data, and ensure the accuracy of reported results.
  • Lead projects to understand requirements and propose analytical solutions to drive effective decision-making.
  • Create actionable reports showcasing key performance indicators and areas for operational improvement.
  • Analyze and summarize business operations, customer, and economic data to optimize business intelligence and predict outcomes.
  • Build or modify internal databases and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business units and senior management to meet objectives.
  • Communicate data outcomes effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced analysts.
  • Maintain and enhance Tableau dashboards and data extracts.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience applying statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and related analytical tools.
  • Experience in problem resolution, root cause analysis, and workflow documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of ETL tools, data warehousing, data cleaning techniques, and analytical methods.
  • Proficient in data models, design tools, statistical programming languages, and data queries.
  • Skilled in data extraction, mapping techniques, and data manipulation.
  • Advanced competency in interpreting and presenting data to support business decisions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
