What We're Looking For

We need a proactive Collections Specialist to manage and expedite the collections process. Your role involves following up on overdue invoices and maintaining positive client relationships to ensure timely payment and reduce outstanding balances. Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and attention to detail are essential.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Invoice Follow-Up:
  • Initiate contact with clients regarding overdue invoices via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies for prompt payment.
• Account Reconciliation:
  • Review customer accounts regularly to identify and collect outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile payments and accurately allocate them to due invoices.
• Negotiation and Problem Resolution:
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes professionally while maintaining a positive client relationship.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues affecting payment collection.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of all communication and collection activities.
  • Provide regular status reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to encourage prompt payments.
  • Act as a point of contact for billing and collection inquiries.
• Compliance and Policies:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all collection activities.
  • Stay updated on changes in collection laws and best practices.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in spoken and written English for professional phone conversations.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Zendesk and collections software is preferred but not required.

Job Details

• Full-time (40 hours per week).

Compensation
