As a Pre-sales Solutions Architect (specialising in Data Engineering, Analytics, AI, Big Data, and Public Cloud), you will oversee the technical evaluation phase in a hands-on environment during the sales process. You will play a crucial role in the sales team, acting as a technical advisor and working with the product team to represent your customers in the field. You will assist our customers in achieving solid data-driven outcomes using our Databricks lakehouse platform. This involves establishing a clear architectural vision, identifying compelling use cases, and helping our customers realise value. You'll develop as a leader in your field, finding solutions to our customers' most significant challenges in big data, analytics, data engineering, and data science difficulties. You will report to the Senior Manager of Field Engineering.
The impact you will have:
- You will be a big data engineering architect covering the Data Engineering and Data Science area.
- Guide your clients through the evaluation and adoption of the Databricks lakehouse platform.
- Support your customers by creating reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications.
- Engage with the technical community (both internal and external) by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
- Along with your Account Executive, you will build and maintain successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory to provide both technical and business value.
What we look for:
- Pre- or post-sales experience working with external clients providing thought leadership.
- We are currently focusing on our Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors. Experience in these areas would be desirable.
- As this is a broad and varied role, you should have demonstrated expertise in data, such as data engineering, architecture, or data science.
- Experience with expressing technical concepts, including presenting and whiteboarding.
- Experience with the design and implementation of architectures within a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- You should have experience with at least a few big data technologies, like Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc., applied to solutions within data engineering, data science, MLOps, and platform migrations.
- Fluent coding experience in at least one of the following: Python, R, Java, or Scala.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience through demonstrable work experience.
